It happened by accident. I didn’t plan on becoming a professional photographer, but I believe the best things in life aren’t planned. I earned my Ph.D. in health policy and spent 5 years in the corporate world doing health outcomes research. Then one day a friend asked if I would photograph her wedding, and my life suddenly changed.
After that wedding, my passion for photography was quickly noticed by other couples and families with young children, and I quickly realized I was doing what I was meant to do. My life had taken an unexpected turn, and I now have the privilege of documenting life’s sweetest moments – a glowing bride’s smile the first moment she sees her groom, a family’s joy as they welcome a new baby into the world, a mother’s tears as she dances with her son. What could be more rewarding than capturing these moments?
When our first daughter was born in 2008, I made the decision to make photography my full-time career, and I haven’t looked back since. I am truly blessed to make a living doing what I love.
As a wedding photojournalist, I specialize in documenting your day as it unfolds, but I balance the candid moments with creative detail photos and relaxed portraits that have an un-posed feel. As a lifestyle photographer, I specialize in creating fun and emotional candids, combined with portraits that are modern yet timeless. Hopefully you can get an even better sense of my style by looking through the gallery images and by reading the blog. Thanks for taking the time to look at my website.
